The Moroccan Ministry of Health reported 302 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases recorded in the country since the beginning of the outbreak to 18,264.
With an additional 236 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the recovery count stands at 15,872. The recovery rate remains at 86.9%.
The total number of deaths is now 292, with seven new fatalities. The mortality rate stands at 1.6%.
The number of active COVID-19 cases now stands at 2,100.
Approximately 1,067,226 suspected COVID-19 cases have tested negative since the outbreak of the virus in Morocco.
The pandemic’s spread by region
In the last 24 hours, the Marrakech-Safi region recorded 44 new cases to represent 16.96% of all cases in Morocco. The Fez-Meknes region reported 32 new cases (12.83%).
The Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima recorded 119 new cases to represent 21.52% of the country’s cases.
The Casablanca-Settat region recorded 83 cases in the last 24 hours to cover 24.39% of the cases in Morocco.
Meanwhile, four new cases appeared in the Oriental region, covering 2.01% of COVID-19 cases in Morocco.
Nine cases emerged in the southern region of Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab, while the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra region recorded six, to cover 0.29% and 11.64% of the country’s cases, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Draa-Tafilalet region only recorded two new cases to represent 3.29% of cases in Morocco. Health authorities confirmed three cases in the region of Guelmim-Oued Noun (0.88%).
