While the drinking water quality in Fez is now fine (and drinkable from the tap), the air quality varies considerably. In recent weeks there has been an increase in the number of fires burning waste products. The photograph above shows yet another plume of acrid black smoke drifting across the Medina. Hopefully the city authorities can act quickly to put an end to this kind of air pollution.
